The world-leading Centre for Cancer Immunology opened in 2017. The state-of-the-art facilities will attract leading scientists from all over the world.
The centre will maximise research power and enable researchers to accelerate the development of immunotherapy treatments and deliver cures for cancers more effectively and more quickly.
The new Centre is located at Southampton General Hospital and is partnered with the Francis Crick Centre in London, a major international hub for biomedical research. It is the only dedicated cancer immunology centre in the UK. A key aim of the centre is to double the number of people working on cancer immunology and ultimately double the number of patients taking part in clinical trials.
The new 4,000m², four-storey building will house state-of-the-art equipment to support the development of new cancer immunotherapies – from discovery in the lab through to clinical trials.
