Welcome... Zoe McCawley

It's a very warm welcome to Zoe McCawley, our new Project Associate, who joined us in May...

What’s your background/experience to date?

I began my career with Labcorp, joining in October 2022 after graduating from university. I worked within the Speciality Pathology Services team, primarily supporting immuno-oncology projects. My main responsibility was to provide project co-ordination, supporting clients with incoming work, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining compliance with GLP and GCP regulations. I joined CCTech in May 2026, bringing strong co-ordination and organisational skills from my previous experience into my new role.

What does your role involve?

A key part of my role is supporting the Technical Advisors within the Biomedical & STEM team, helping to ensure that projects run efficiently and smoothly. I provide support across a range of areas, including document control, administration and organisation, ensuring that all project documentation is accurately maintained and easily accessible. I also play an important role in facilitating communication between clients and project teams, helping to co-ordinate information and keep projects on track. By maintaining clear and consistent communication, I help ensure that everyone is aligned and that work progresses without delays. Overall, my role focuses on enabling the team to operate effectively by managing key administrative processes and supporting the smooth flow of information across all aspects of a project.

What excites you about your role?

One of the most exciting aspects of my role is being part of a team that helps deliver innovative research facilities that meet regulatory standards and support the advancement of research and development. With my background in scientific research, it’s particularly rewarding to see projects evolve and improvements take shape, knowing they will have a meaningful impact on the wider science and healthcare landscape. Being involved in work that contributes to innovation and progress in these fields is something I find especially exciting.

What are your day-to-day activities/responsibilities?

My day-to-day responsibilities include:

What specialist software do you use (if any)?

I don’t currently use any specialist software in my role, but I’m always keen to develop new skills and explore opportunities to improve processes using new tools and technologies.

Why do you enjoy working for CCTech?

One of the things I enjoy most about working for CCTech is the team I’m part of. It’s really encouraging to work alongside such knowledgeable colleagues who are experts in their field and are always willing to share their experience and insights. I also really value the collaborative environment at CCTech. Being part of this kind of culture provides a great opportunity for continuous learning and development. I enjoy the variety in my role and the chance to be involved in projects that have a meaningful impact on the science and healthcare sectors. Overall, it’s the combination of the people and the interesting, impactful work that makes CCTech such an enjoyable place to work.

Away from work, what are your interests/pastimes?

Outside work, I enjoy spending time camping and hiking around the country with my partner. I’m also keen on running and have recently started taking part in events and races. I also love cooking and baking, especially trying out new dishes and making sweet treats in my spare time.
